There was no vegetarianism in Israel. Most of the sacrifices were meat-based. The sweet savor of soybean cakes and tofu may have impressed Cain, but Abel's sacrifice was accepted by God. (Gary North, Sanctions and Dominion: An Economic Commentary on Numbers, ICE, 1997, p. 174)

This cracked me up....
ReplyDeleteYeah, with the cleavage & all, I didn't know whether to publish it or not, but I thought the message was too good not to share.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and to be fair I am 100% behind organic, healthy eating, but "vegan" practices are, in my opinion, a very ill-advised diet. I don't eat desserts myself, so I guess you could say I'm in the middle of the road here.... I'm an indiscriminate omnivore, is what I like to tell people. If it's meat, fruit, or vegetable, it is game for me. If I have no idea where it came from (think candy in a wrapper), then I likely am not going to eat it.
ReplyDeleteYou're a better man than I am. To borrow a phrase from my barber, "I'm an omnivore; I eat only one thing at a time." (Joke!) :-D
ReplyDeleteYou're a better man than I am.
ReplyDeleteThis I know to be incorrect! It's just that sweets (everything from chocolate, cake and cookies to candy and ice cream, gummy bears and chewing gum) is not something I'm too big on, so it is easy for me to just say no altogether as I don't think it's best for me to consume it anyhow. However, food such as pasta or pizza I will never give up!
I have plenty of my own weaknesses as you know. I just don't have a sweet tooth, so see no need in indulging in what I find easy to avoid. Does that make sense?
Spencer
Well, then let me just say that you're a much better man than you think.
