Boot to the Head
"Don't mess with the pajama people," as a member of my old jujitsu club used to say. I might add, "Above all, don't mess with their instructor."
I heard this routine on the radio some years ago and was delighted to find it on youtube. I hope you'll enjoy it.
NOTE: The recording contains one example of what some may consider a crude expression. Minors, please check with parents before listening.

Combat Lawn Gnomes Revisited
A while back, I posted a picture of a combat lawn gnome. Now, I have some more pics and a source where you can order your own.
No doubt that DHS, the FBI and other agencies will soon put out the word that anyone with one of these in his yard is a potential terrorist. In the meantime, enjoy.

Dad Shoots Teen Daughter's Computer
It's all over the internet. The father of a 16-yr-old girl found a rude & disrespectful post on her Facebook page aimed at him & his wife.
He had previously warned her, so he took drastic action & made a video that showed him peppering her computer with shots from his .45. (See article here) His video has engendered a maelstrom of controversy on the internet.
Sadly, the controversy focuses on totally irrelevant issues, such as the man's parenting skills, the right of teens to rebel, and so forth. I would like to redirect the conversation to more practical matters.

- What is the best caliber to use if you want to stop a computer dead in its tracks? (Perhaps a shotgun if attacked by a computer-wielding assailant in your own home?)
- Is it best to shoot for the center of mass, or should you try to take out the microprocessor?
- What do you say to avoid liability, when police arrive on the scene?
- Should you plan on using the same weapon to defend yourself against the computer's irate owner, or would another weapon/caliber be more appropriate?

American Evangelical Pilgrims?
The Pilgrims celebrated the first American Thanksgiving in Autumn of 1621, about a year after landing at Plymouth Rock. I have wondered though . . . . If the Pilgrim congregation had reacted like modern American evangelicals, perhaps the Plymouth Colony would never have been settled.
Here's my idea of how a modern evangelical congregation might have received the plea to leave England:
Pastor William Brewster (WB): The elders and I have decided that in light of the present persecution and the likelihood of further measures against us, that our church should leave England.
Congregation (C): We're sure gonna miss you guys!
WB: You don't understand. We mean that the whole congregation -- all of us -- need to leave England together.
C: Leave our homes? The housing market is depressed. We'd lose our equity.
WB: We're talking about saving lives. The king and the Church of England mean to snuff us out.
C: Some of us have been meaning to talk to you about your extremist rhetoric.
WB: Extremist rhetoric? Many have suffered under the yoke of oppression and not a few have died. As your leaders, we see the need to act.
C: Look, maybe if you toned down the rhetoric and made a few superficial changes in our worship service -- you know, to be little more high-church friendly -- we wouldn't have to worry about persecution.
WB: Our doctrine and worship comes from Scripture. We will not compromise God's truth to get along. We must flee those who seek our lives.
C: Don't get emotional. Maybe the best thing would be to dissolve our church and all of us keep low profiles by joining approved congregations.
WB: No! We have covenanted together as a body in a union very like marriage. We must stay together as a community of faith. It is what God has called us to do. Our congregation is an administrative unit in the Kingdom of Christ, and to function according to His calling, we must maintain our corporate integrity. However, if we stay in England we may well be scattered by the forces drawn up against us. That is why we elders have decided we must leave this country.

The following cartoon makes a point. Tactics are important, and poor tactical choices yield poor results.

Anti-Gun Mentality
If you look at the cartoon below and terms like "irrational", "insane", "delusional" or "withdrawn from reality" come to mind, then congratulations. You have discovered the deeply-rooted motive force behind the anti-gun movement:
They're all nuts.
My suspicion is that the reason they are mentally broken is that they are also morally broken. But that's a topic for another post -- or a series of posts.
Thanks to Merrianna for the link to this cartoon.

Fall Schedule for Harold Camping's "End of the World" Series
As you may have heard, false teacher of notoriety Harold Camping has revised his schedule for the end of the world. Instead of May 21, 2011, he has scheduled it for October 21, 2011. (This Friday!)
Stay tuned for further developments.
Please Note: End of the World may be postponed at the discretion of Management.

Young Christian Warrior Motivational Poster
This Christian warrior motivational poster features one of those cartoons that's supposed to make you see yourself and chuckle. To me, it's an acknowledgment of budding sheepdogs who will take action when the sheep are too stunned to move.
Even though I thought I was the only one . . . .
. . . I will say that I was running mental attack drills in school and church long before 9/11 and long before the Columbine shooting -- even before Red Dawn. If this cartoon connects with you as it did with me, just smile wryly and keep on running those mind drills.
Thanks to Merrianna for the link to this poster.
